FC Ajax Amsterdam Thinking Ahead

Monday, August 27th, 2018

Magnation_RainlikeWater_Ajax_01Martin Brummel, Head Groundskeeper at FC Ajax NV, has made a commitment to alleviating all chemicals by 2020, to abide by the new environmental law set by The Netherlands—a genuine leader for a new standard of sustainability. While the EU has an agreement to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases in 2020 by 20% on 1990 levels, the Netherlands maintains it’s aggressive efforts to remove chemical use by then.

The Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) calls on European delegates to promote an ambitious international framework beyond 2020, based on their commitments to release the European Strategy for a Non-Toxic Environment by 2018. The release of such a strategy would make Europe a leader in the SAICM discussions and inspire much needed progress on safe chemicals management.

Magnation is poised to be the solution for not only saving water (which came in handy during the tremendous heat wave this summer), but also assisting the removal of chemicals from turf management (and Ag!) protocol.

The good news is it won’t be so difficult for the Toekomst, the elite training facility for internationally acclaimed, champion-studded professional soccer club out of Amsterdam. Magnation was installed two years ago and as of this summer has amplified the benefits by adding a couple more double-duty Aquabolts to their facility.

The fact that Magnation impacts soil health and promotes moisture retention with balanced distribution is one reason soil amendments can be removed from the menu. Need greener greens? Nature has a way of doing that by absorbing optimal amounts of nutrition… which can be done by way of improving root structures and improved capillary action in the soil, making room for delicious and nutritious molecules to funnel straight up into the vigorous turf those blessed players pound on daily. These things add up, especially when aiming to reduce emissions and significantly curtail the impacts of chemical use.

We keep it simple. Leveraging natural physics is our remedy.
